The invention discloses a lifting appliance control system and method. The system comprises a lifting appliance and a tower crane server, the lifting appliance is provided with a plurality of clamps with different models; wherein the lifting appliance is in communication connection with the tower crane server; the lifting appliance is used for collecting material data and sensing data of a to-be-clamped material and sending the material data and the sensing data to the tower crane server; the lifting appliance is provided with a plurality of clamps with different models; and the tower crane server is used for calculating a clamp of an optimal model and a pressure threshold value according to the received material data and sensing data, receiving a material clamping sensing parameter fed back by the clamp, and determining whether the to-be-clamped material is clamped or not based on the material clamping sensing parameter and the pressure threshold value. Due to the fact that the clamping operation of the to-be-clamped materials is controlled to be completed through the material clamping induction parameters, allocation and transportation in the mode of clamping purely depending on the set single friction force can be avoided, and therefore intelligent allocation and transportation of the tower crane are achieved.
