The invention discloses a transverse vibration damping device for a flexible pedestrian footpath of a boarding bridge, which comprises a supporting frame for supporting the flexible pedestrian footpath of the boarding bridge, two longitudinal beams and a plurality of transverse beams which are oppositely arranged, and the transverse beams are connected between the two longitudinal beams; the two guide rods are oppositely arranged, and the guide rods are connected between the two longitudinal beams; the mass block is provided with two guide holes, and the middle parts of the guide rods are arranged in the guide holes in a sliding manner; the end portion of the guide rod is movably sleeved with the spiral spring, the two ends of the spiral spring are connected between the longitudinal beam and the mass block, and the spiral spring is coated with a damping layer. The problems that an existing flexible pedestrian walkway of a boarding bridge and other structures is small in transverse rigidity, transverse vibration is likely to be caused, too large amplitude is generated, and comfort is reduced are solved.
