The present disclosure provides methods and systems for a pressureless fuel tank. Methods and systems are provided for performing reverse purge of an evaporative emission canister in a vehicle having a sealed variable volume fuel tank. In one example, a method may include, in response to an ambient temperature decreasing during a daytime temperature cycle and further in response to fuel vapors loading an EVAP canister above a threshold, closing a valve located at an atmospheric port of the fuel tank and opening a fuel tank isolation valve. In one example, the fuel tank isolation valve may be in fluid communication between the fuel tank and the EVAP canister. In this manner, a sealed variable volume fuel tank can be converted to a ventilated pressurized fuel tank, and reverse purge is initiated during the cooling time of the daytime temperature cycle.
