A computer-implemented method of perfecting a parking lot high definition (HD) map for autonomous valet parking (AVP) is disclosed. The method comprises the following steps: a vehicle navigates in the parking lot by using an HD map; the vehicle uses one or more sensors to scan objects in the parking lot; enhancing the HD map by the vehicle using a synchronous localization and mapping (SLAM) method; adding an object detected by the one or more sensors to the HD map; and the learning score of the HD map can be improved.
