The invention discloses a battery monitoring method, a controller and an electric vehicle. The accuracy of electric quantity detection of a low-voltage battery is improved. The battery monitoring method comprises the following steps: acquiring state information of the electric vehicle; judging whether the electric vehicle is in at least one scene in a preset scene group or not according to the state information; the preset scene group comprises a scene in which the electric vehicle is in a power-on state and a low-voltage battery of the electric vehicle is in a charging state, and a scene in which the electric vehicle is in a dormant state; if yes, the low-voltage battery is controlled to discharge through a preset load, and when the discharge duration reaches a first preset value, the electric quantity of the low-voltage battery is detected.
