The invention provides a transmission assembly and an elevator. According to the transmission assembly, a mounting space is formed in a mounting shell; the transmission structure is matched with a matching piece of the mounting shell; the sliding rail assembly is arranged in the installation space and comprises a first sliding rail arranged in the first direction and a second sliding rail arranged in the second direction. The guide assembly is connected to the transmission structure, and the transmission structure is movably connected with the sliding rail assembly through the guide assembly. When the transmission structure moves on the first sliding rail and/or the second sliding rail, the transmission structure keeps the same first state. The invention solves the problems that a transmission mechanism cannot keep good stability when moving on a sliding rail due to the fact that the whole weight of the seedbed loaded with cultivation soil and seedlings is relatively large in the process of combining actual transmission of the seedbed, so that a common transmission mechanism can only realize transmission in a single direction, for example, only ascending and descending are realized; and therefore, the overall transmission efficiency is low.
