The invention relates to the technical field of automobile energy absorption devices, in particular to a passenger car side collision energy absorption device which comprises an energy absorption block with the hollow interior, an energy absorption assembly, an air pipe, a pressure sensor, a controller and an electromagnetic switch installed on the air pipe. The energy absorption block and the energy absorption assembly are both installed on the automobile door, the energy absorption assembly comprises a shell and a piston rod which are connected to the automobile door, a buffer cavity is formed in the shell, a ventilation opening communicated with the buffer cavity is formed in the shell, and the piston rod is arranged on the shell in a penetrating mode and is in sliding connection with the shell. The distance between the end, away from the inner plate, of the piston rod and the inner plate is larger than that between the end, away from the inner plate, of the energy-absorbing block and the inner plate. The two ends of the air pipe communicate with the ventilation opening and the interior of the energy absorption block correspondingly, the pressure sensor is installed at the end, close to the outer plate, of the piston rod, and the pressure sensor and the electromagnetic switch are coupled with the controller. The automobile door has the effect that the deformation quantity of the automobile door after collision is reduced so as to improve the protection effect on passengers.
