The invention discloses a gantry crane motion control method for port transportation. The method comprises the following steps: 1) constructing a gantry crane motion control system structure; step 2): constructing a gantry crane motion control system hardware model selection; step 3), designing a control interface of the upper computer by utilizing Visual Studio software; the method is used for interaction of a human-computer interface. (4) a motion control program is written and used for three-axis motion control of the gantry crane and container loading and unloading; and step 5), testing a gantry crane motion control method for testing functions of a gantry crane system. According to the gantry crane, the mode of the motion control card and the host computer is adopted, the three-axis motion control and container loading and unloading functions of the gantry crane are achieved, and the loading and unloading efficiency and operation safety of port containers are effectively improved.
