The present disclosure provides a thermally insulated joint for a traction battery pack. Exemplary traction battery pack designs for powered vehicles may include thermally insulated joints configured to isolate heat transfer paths at one or more structural junctions between a housing tray of the traction battery pack and battery internal structures (e.g., heat exchanger plates, cross members, etc. The thermal insulation joint may include a first thermal insulation component and a second thermal insulation component disposed on opposite sides of the battery internal structure. The thermal insulation component cooperates to block the heat transfer path across the structural connection to insulate battery internal components from the surroundings of the traction battery pack.
