The invention discloses a background traffic flow model construction method and system based on automatic driving, and relates to the technical field of automatic driving testing. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring driving data of a test vehicle and a lane changing vehicle; based on the viscoelastic-plastic constitutive relationship, respectively calculating the stress relationship of the test vehicle in the lane changing process, wherein the stress relationship comprises driver self-driving force, vehicle interaction force and lane force; and establishing a motion trend model of the vehicle according to the stress relationship. The method is based on mechanics and is combined with the viscoelastic-plastic constitutive relation, and the displacement, the speed and the acceleration of the vehicle can be accurately represented through simulation verification of a public data set, so that the accuracy of characteristic parameter extraction in the testing process is ensured.
