The invention discloses a whole-vehicle mass estimation method for an extended-range electric vehicle, and the method is characterized in that the method comprises the following steps: S1, basic signal calculation: calculating a wheel-side driving force and a whole-vehicle acceleration; s2, performing high-pass filtering, and calculating a wheel edge driving force and a whole vehicle acceleration high-frequency component; and S3, least square estimation: estimating the mass of the whole vehicle by using the least square. The estimated mass of the whole vehicle can be used for driving force pre-control of functions such as crawling working conditions and self-adaptive cruise, the vehicle speed overshoot is reduced, and the vehicle speed stabilizing time is shortened.
