The invention provides a shafting centering device and a shafting centering method.The shafting centering device comprises a micro-alignment telescope and a light target assembly, the central axis of the micro-alignment telescope coincides with the extension line of the central axis of a marine main engine flywheel, the cross center of a light target in the light target assembly coincides with the center of the end face of a stern shaft tube roughly, and the cross center of the light target in the light target assembly coincides with the center of the end face of the stern shaft tube roughly. The cross center of the light target coincides with the cross sight line center of the micro-alignment telescope. By means of the shafting centering device, in the ship repairing operation process, under the condition that shafting bow and stern datum points do not exist, the center of the broken end face of the stern shaft tube can be repositioned, the installation precision of the thickness stern shaft tube and the shafting center is guaranteed, and the service life of a ship after being repaired is prolonged.
