The invention provides a multi-control-surface empennage locking and releasing mechanism, a control method and a cylindrical folding wing unmanned aerial vehicle. The mechanism comprises a base, a fuel gas generator, a locking and releasing assembly and a limiting assembly. The gas generator is mounted to the base. In the locking and releasing assembly, one end of a driving shaft is contained in a base and provided with a cavity, gas can lead to the cavity to push the driving shaft to move in the direction away from the control surfaces, a bracket moves along with the driving shaft, a pin penetrates through the base to be installed on the bracket and can be inserted into the control surfaces, and the length of the pin depends on the length of the control surfaces and the releasing time sequence. In the limiting assembly, the supporting piece is fixed to the base through a supporting rod, and the stopping piece limits movement of the driving shaft when moving along with the driving shaft to make contact with the supporting piece. According to the invention, the control surface expansion of the empennage is irrelevant to the cylinder wall smoothness, and the empennage can be expanded in a delayed manner; locking and releasing of a plurality of control surfaces are controlled by the same mechanism, and the releasing reliability is high; the pins with different lengths can be selected for synchronous or asynchronous release of multiple control surfaces according to different lengths of empennage control surfaces and release time sequence requirements.
