A scissor arm for an articulating support is configured to rotate about an axis of rotation. The scissor arm includes a central support structure, at least a portion of which extends in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The scissor arm also includes a tubular body including first and second members forming opposite sides of the scissor arm and attached to the central support structure. Each of the first and second members of the tubular body includes an outer wall spaced from the plane, an upper flange extending from the outer wall toward the plane, and a lower flange extending from the outer wall toward the plane.
