The embodiment of the invention provides a method, device and equipment for controlling a vehicle, a computer readable medium and a computer program product. A method described herein includes determining, by a backup system, a first perceived result during control of a vehicle by a primary system, where the first perceived result is different from a second perceived result determined by the primary system. Determining, by the backup system, risk information of the vehicle based on the first sensing result and trajectory information acquired from the main system, the trajectory information being generated by the main system based on a second sensing result; and in response to the risk information indicating that the vehicle has the collision risk, the control authority of the vehicle is switched from the main system to the backup system. Therefore, the backup system can be used for detecting the collision risk and taking over the vehicle based on the detected collision risk, and the safety of the vehicle can be improved.
