The invention discloses a steel wire rope tension detection device which comprises a shell, a first pressing block, a second pressing block, a third pressing block, a driving mechanism and a pressure sensor. The steel wire rope penetrates through the shell, the upper end of one side in the shell is fixedly connected with a first pressing block, and the lower end of the side, close to the first pressing block, in the shell is fixedly connected with a second pressing block. The driving mechanism is fixed to the other side of the shell, connected with the third pressing block and capable of driving the third pressing block to extrude or be away from the steel wire rope. The third pressing block is located between the first pressing block and the second pressing block when extruding the steel wire rope, and the first pressing block and the second pressing block extrude the steel wire rope at the same time. The pressure sensor is used for detecting the pressure borne by the third pressing block.
