A technique for studying the assembly accuracy of a vehicle replacement windshield with a mounted driver assistance camera (DAC) images the spectral reflectance profile of the DAC using an illumination radiation delivery device, and compares the spectral reflectance profile to a reference spectral reflectance profile (SRP). The reference spectral reflectance profile may be generated by a DAC fitted to the windshield prior to replacement. The first spectral reflectance profile may be imaged if the DAC is mounted in place on a damaged windshield of the vehicle, and the second spectral reflectance profile may be imaged if the DAC is mounted in place on a replacement windshield of the vehicle.
