The invention relates to the technical field of vehicles, in particular to an engine available capacity determining method and device, a vehicle and a storage medium, and the method comprises the steps that the battery allowable charging power, the battery current actual power, the accessory power, the driving motor actual power and the whole vehicle demand power of the vehicle are collected; according to the allowable charging power of the battery, the current actual power of the battery, the accessory power, the actual power of the driving motor and the required power of the whole vehicle, the available capacity of various engines is determined; a target engine availability capability is determined from the plurality of engine availability capabilities based on the engine capability demand, the engine power generation rate, and the power consumption rate of the electric machine to control the vehicle in accordance with the target engine availability capability. Therefore, the problem that the current available capacity of the engine cannot be accurately calculated according to the running state of the whole vehicle due to the limitation of the capacity of the generator in the prior art is solved, and the available capacity of the engine is accurately calculated by collecting the current running state information of the vehicle.
