The lunar vehicle includes a vehicle body, at least one collection device configured to collect lunar soil, and a power source. In some examples, the collection device includes at least one wall defining an opening and at least one plate positioned in the opening. The power supply is configured to apply a voltage difference across the collection device. In some examples, the lunar rover further includes: a movable arm including one end connected to the rover body and the other end connected to the collecting device; at least one polarity sensor configured to detect a polarity of lunar soil adjacent to the lunar vehicle; and a controller configured to control the power source to apply a voltage difference across the collection device based on the detected polarity of lunar soil proximate to the lunar vehicle.
