The invention discloses a shared electric bicycle major accident detection system and method, and the system comprises a driving state discrimination system which is used for recognizing the driving state of a shared electric bicycle and detecting the vehicle driving speed; the instantaneous acceleration detection system is used for detecting the instantaneous acceleration of the shared electric bicycle in the driving state and judging whether a traffic accident occurs or not according to the instantaneous acceleration, a third threshold value and a fourth threshold value; the traffic accident state confirmation system is used for correcting the judgment result of the instantaneous acceleration detection system and comprises a human-vehicle distance detection module and a driver dumping behavior judgment module; the man-vehicle distance detection module is used for carrying out first correction on the traffic accident occurrence state judged by the instantaneous acceleration detection system according to the instantaneous acceleration, and the driver dumping behavior judgment module is used for carrying out second correction according to the traffic accident occurrence state subjected to the first correction. According to the invention, an alarm can be given in time after the shared electric bicycle has a traffic accident, and the false alarm rate of non-motor vehicle accident alarm is reduced.
