The present application discloses an automobile tyre (100) having a tread band (7) comprising a central region (L1) and two shoulder regions (L2, L3); the central region (L1) has a plurality of ribs (8, 9, 10) wherein a first rib (8) with a plurality of first transverse grooves (15) comprises a substantially straight first segment (15 ') inclined with respect to a direction parallel to the equatorial plane (X-X) to form an angle [theta] of less than or equal to 70 degrees, a substantially straight second segment (15' ') inclined in opposite directions, and a curved connecting segment (15' ''); a curved connecting section extends between said first section (15 ') and said second section (15' '); the first rib (8) further comprises a straight first sipe (21) located in the first rib (8) and between the first transverse grooves (15) and extending over at least 60% of the width of the first rib (8); the angle [theta] formed by the first sipe (21) with the equatorial plane (X-X) is preferably equal to the angle [theta] 'of the first segment (15') of the first transverse groove (15).
