The invention relates to a system and a method for monitoring power shortage of a storage battery for a vehicle, and the system comprises a signal collection module which is connected with a VCU system of the vehicle and is used for judging whether the vehicle is in a locking dormant state or an ignition starting state; the signal acquisition module is also connected with the storage battery and is used for acquiring a voltage signal of the storage battery; the communication module is used for transmitting the voltage signal, detected by the signal acquisition module, of the storage battery to a receiving terminal; the receiving terminal is used for receiving and storing the information of the voltage signal of the storage battery; and the control module is used for controlling the voltage acquisition module, the communication module and the receiving terminal module to work together. The system can accurately and effectively monitor the voltage state of the storage battery in real time in an energy-saving manner, and can give an alarm in time and actively operate to avoid further deterioration of the storage battery due to power shortage in a power shortage state, so that the lasting working capability of the storage battery is effectively improved, and stable operation of a vehicle under various conditions is ensured.
