The present disclosure relates to an electro-optical element having an electrode having a reduced reflectivity configuration. The electro-optic element may include a first substrate, a second substrate disposed substantially parallel to the first substrate, a first electrode associated with the first substrate, a second electrode associated with the second substrate, and an electro-optic medium disposed between the first and second electrodes. In addition, the electrode having the reduced reflectivity configuration may have a first transparent conductive oxide layer and a high refractive index layer disposed such that the first transparent conductive oxide layer is between the high refractive index layer and the electro-optic medium. And the high refractive index layer comprises titanium dioxide.
