The freewheel gear continuously meshes with an intermediate gear on the intermediate drive shaft. The other intermediate gear reinforced to the intermediate drive shaft is continuously engaged with the output gear reinforced to the output drive shaft. The two-speed electric drive assembly may be selectively switched between a speed mode and a torque mode without torque interruption.
