A method for estimating a virtual distance corresponding to power supplied by an electric vehicle (EV) to an off-board load includes monitoring one or more enable conditions, the enable condition includes at least one of a speed of the EV, an active/inactive mode for supplying power to the one or more V2X loads, a net charge/discharge state of a battery of the electric vehicle, an inserted charge state of the electric vehicle, and a wireless charge state of the electric vehicle. In response to one or more enable conditions, power output by a battery of the EV to at least one of the off-board load and at the one or more V2X loads is selectively integrated to produce an integrated power output value, and the integrated power output value is converted to a virtual distance.
