The invention provides a physiological state monitoring system for monitoring the physiological state of a user. The physiological status monitoring system comprises a light source module, a plurality of light sensing units and a processing unit in signal connection with the light sensing units. The light source module is configured to emit light towards the recognizable area, and part of the light reaches a skin block, making contact with the recognizable area, of a user and penetrates through a corium layer of the skin block. The photosensitive units are distributed in a recognizable area on the physiological status monitoring system and are used for continuously detecting ambient light received by the recognizable area and reflected light passing through a corium layer of a skin block so as to output a plurality of brightness change signals as contact signals and photoplethysmography signals. The processing unit is configured to determine a physiological state of the user according to the contact signal and the photoplethysmography signal.
