The present disclosure provides "DC fast charge monitoring and control". The controller commands a magnitude of the DC charging current to be less than a predefined value during DC fast charging of the traction battery, and commands the magnitude of the DC charging current to be at a target high value in response to a magnitude of generated voltage drop data for a fast charging contactor connected between the charging port and the main contactor being less than a first threshold.
