The invention discloses a leg mechanism of a desktop robot, and the leg mechanism comprises a leg assembly which is internally provided with a rotary steering engine; the connecting rod structure is mounted at the upper part of the leg component and is used for supporting the robot trunk; the leg component can be driven to rotate relative to the connecting rod structure through the rotary steering engine; wherein the leg assembly is lifted up or put down by driving the connecting rod structure to rotate relative to the robot trunk, and the robot trunk is driven to do lateral movement by driving the leg assembly and the connecting rod structure to rotate relative to each other, so that the forward/backward movement of the leg mechanism is realized. The invention further discloses the desktop robot and a walking method thereof. According to the desktop robot, the structural complexity of the desktop robot is reduced, flexible movement and diversified action display can be achieved by simply coordinating and controlling the leg assemblies and the connecting rod structures, and the cost is reduced; in addition, by means of the design, the appearance of the desktop robot is optimized, and the use experience of the user is improved.
