The invention provides a method for automatically detecting the sand working condition of a vehicle by adopting a counter, which comprises the following steps that: after the vehicle enters a sand braking mode, the value of the counter is set as an initial value of the sand braking mode, and the initial value of the sand braking mode is equal to the sum of a first detection threshold value and an offset value; determining an adjustment step for adjusting the value of the counter on the basis of the rolling resistance and/or the steering wheel angle of the vehicle; on the basis of the initial value of the sand braking mode, the current value of a counter is obtained by accumulatively adjusting the step length; the current value of the counter is compared with the first detection threshold value and/or a second detection threshold value smaller than the first detection threshold value, and whether the sand land is detected or not is determined based on the comparison result, specifically, when the current value of the counter is larger than the first detection threshold value, it is determined that the sand land working condition is detected; when the current value of the counter is smaller than a second detection threshold value, it is determined that the sand land working condition is not detected; and when the current value of the counter is between the first detection threshold value and the second detection threshold value, the current value of the counter is set to be the sand braking mode initial value again, and it is determined that the sand working condition is detected.
