An inverter power module cooling system for an electrically powered vehicle includes an inlet, an outlet, and a cooling system. The inlet is coupled to a channel that provides coolant from the heat exchanger to the plurality of power modules in parallel along a first edge of an associated chip having one or more switches and a channel that collects coolant from a second edge of the associated chip. Additional serpentine channels receive coolant from the inlet to cool an associated region of the thermally conductive capacitor pad. The system may include a base plate having a channel on one side and providing coolant to one side of the power module and the capacitor pad; and channel plates fixed to opposite sides of the base plate to provide coolant to opposite sides of the power module. The cover plate may be provided to seal the channels of the base plate and the channel plate, or may be integrally formed by molding or additive manufacturing.
