The invention discloses a multifunctional hybrid power system for a ship, relates to the field of ship power control, and solves the technical problems that an existing hybrid ship power system is high in oil consumption and single in function. The device comprises a controller, a motor driving module, an engine power module, an energy storage module, a range-extended power generation module and a propeller, the driving end of the motor driving module is in transmission connection with the propeller, the driving end of the engine power module is in transmission connection with the driving end of the motor driving module, the input and output end of the energy storage module is electrically connected with the input and output end of the motor driving module, and the input end of the energy storage module is electrically connected with the range-extended power generation module. And the motor driving module, the engine power module, the energy storage module and the extended-range power generation module are all electrically connected with the controller. The invention further discloses a control method of the marine multifunctional hybrid power system. According to the invention, the fuel economy of the power system and the flexibility of response to the power system under different loads are improved, and the braking energy recovery of the ship is realized.
