A power storage device (50) is provided with: a cell (60); a relay 53 for cutting off the current of the cell 60; a bypass circuit 120 connected in parallel with the relay 53; and a management device (150). The bypass circuit (120) includes two FETs (121, 123) connected back to back. When an abnormality of the cell (60) is detected, the management device (150) turns off the relay (53) (OPEN), turns on one of the two FETs (121, 123) (CLOSE) and turns off the other (OPEN), and makes it possible to discharge or charge the cell (60) through a path passing through a parasitic diode of the FETs. The management device (150) closes (CLOSE) the relay (53) and the other FET (121, 123) that is OFF (OPEN) when the current I and the energization time T of the FETs (121, 123) reach a predetermined condition or the temperature of the FETs (121, 123) reach a predetermined condition when discharging or charging is performed through a path that passes through the parasitic diode, and the management device (150) also closes (CLOSE) the relay (53) and the other FETs (121, 123) that are OFF (OPEN) when the current I and the energization time T of the FETs (121, 123) reach the predetermined condition.
