The invention provides an automatic avoiding folding method for an outside rear-view mirror. The automatic avoiding folding method comprises the steps that the movement track of a moving object close to the outside rear-view mirror is obtained; determining a collision point position and a collision included angle between the movement track and the outside rear-view mirror; and determining an avoidance folding angle of the exterior rearview mirror based on the collision included angle, the collision point location and a pre-stored length of the exterior rearview mirror so as to control the exterior rearview mirror to perform avoidance folding according to the avoidance folding angle. According to the method, the movement track of the moving object close to the outside rear-view mirror is obtained, the collision point position and the collision included angle of the moving object and the outside rear-view mirror are determined based on the movement track, and the avoiding folding angle of the outside rear-view mirror is determined on the basis, so that the outside rear-view mirror is controlled to be subjected to avoiding folding according to the avoiding folding angle; and a moving object is prevented from impacting the outside rear-view mirror.
