The invention discloses a passive mine cage operation state monitoring system and method, and relates to the technical field of mine cage operation state monitoring, the passive mine cage operation state monitoring system comprises a cage body and a remote monitoring terminal, the remote monitoring terminal communicates with the cage body through a wireless receiving box at a wellhead and communicates with a winch room control box through a data bus, and the winch room control box is connected with the remote monitoring terminal. A roller cage shoe, a flywheel energy storage device, a cage external monitoring sensor group, a cage internal monitoring sensor group, a substation and a radio transmission box are mounted on the cage body, and the cage external monitoring sensor group comprises a pressure sensor, a laser range finder, a vibration sensor and a displacement sensor; and the cage internal monitoring sensor group comprises a high-definition camera, voice communication equipment and an audible and visual alarm. According to the invention, the running state of the mine cage can be continuously monitored, the running stability and safety of the cage are improved, and the intelligent development of underground cage operation is promoted.
