The invention provides an insulation detection method and an insulation detection system, and the method comprises the steps: controlling a bridge measurement circuit to carry out two times of balance calibration when a complete insulation detection mode starting signal of a vehicle is detected, and obtaining measurement data; obtaining a first resistance value of a standard adjustable resistor in the bridge measurement circuit based on the initial balance state of the bridge measurement circuit, and calculating a first insulation resistance ratio; acquiring a second resistance value of the standard adjustable resistor based on a secondary balance state of the bridge measurement circuit, and calculating a second insulation resistance ratio; calculating an insulation resistance value corresponding to each insulation resistor by combining the first insulation resistance ratio and the second insulation resistance ratio; and judging whether the insulation resistance value accords with a preset safety threshold, and if not, generating alarm information. In the mode, through a two-time bridge balance calibration method and in combination with a vehicle state self-adaptive detection mode, the insulation detection mode can be dynamically adjusted under different working conditions, and the power consumption is reduced while the measurement precision is ensured.
