The invention discloses a sectional type elevator and method for cable-stayed bridge cable tower construction, and the method comprises the following steps: arranging at least two elevators, including a straight elevator and an inclined elevator, on each tower limb of a cable-stayed bridge cable tower as a passage for constructors to go up and down; according to the construction progress of the tower columns, elevators are installed in a segmented mode, and the elevators are started to be installed after construction of the lower tower columns is completed; an inclined elevator is arranged on the middle tower column, and the installation height of the elevator is a preset value; a straight elevator is arranged on the upper tower column and is heightened to the top of the tower along with construction of the tower column; and an elevator conversion platform is arranged between the inclined elevator and the straight elevator on the upper cross beam. By means of the working method of the sectional type elevator for cable-stayed bridge cable tower construction, the construction efficiency can be remarkably improved, the labor intensity of constructors is reduced, and meanwhile safety in the construction process is ensured. Through the arrangement of the sectional type elevator, constructors can conveniently enter and exit from all construction areas of the cable bent tower, and powerful guarantee is provided for construction of the cable-stayed bridge cable bent tower.
