The invention discloses a road condition prediction system for a vehicle. First, a computing device receives ambient temperature and relative humidity data from a vehicle, the ambient temperature and relative humidity data collected by a tire sensor mounted external to a tire of the vehicle or external to a wheel of the vehicle. The computing device then applies the machine learning model to the temperature and humidity data from the vehicle to predict a road condition for the vehicle. The computing device then sends the road condition for the vehicle to a control system of the vehicle.
