The invention provides an electric all-terrain vehicle and a downhill braking method thereof, and relates to the technical field of braking control. The electric all-terrain vehicle comprises a vehicle frame, a vehicle body covering part, a walking system, a power system, a kinetic energy module, a control system and an accelerator pedal. The power system is used for driving the walking system to move and comprises a driving motor; the kinetic energy module provides power for the driving motor; the accelerator pedal responds to operation of a driver to output a control instruction; the control system comprises a downhill brake switch and a control module. Under the condition that the downhill brake switch is in an on state, the all-terrain vehicle has a brake preparation state and a downhill brake state; and if the all-terrain vehicle is in the braking preparation state, the all-terrain vehicle enters a downhill braking state when certain conditions are met. According to the method, the angle is collected without an angle sensor, and the all-terrain vehicle can accurately and safely enter a braking state when going downhill by setting corresponding parameter thresholds, so that the driving safety and stability are improved.
