The reinforcing element is made of foamable material (2). A fibrous material (3) is arranged in an outer side of the foamable material, which is displaced with a harden adhesive composition. The foamable material is foamed thermally by humidity and by electromagnetic beam, particularly thermal. The fibrous material is selected from the group consists of fiber glass, carbon fiber, metal fiber, particularly steel fiber, polymer fiber, e.g. aramid fiber, and ceramic fiber. An independent claim is also included for a method for reinforcement in hollow space of structural component.
