A driving force distribution device (1) includes a sub transmission (20), a friction clutch (40), a rotary drive member (81) fixed to an output shaft (72) of an actuator (70), a friction clutch driving cam (60) for changing a pressing force of the friction clutch, a shift cam (37) for shifting the sub transmission by converting rotary motion of the actuator into linear motion, and a ratchet lever (87) having an axis of rotation extending in a normal direction with respect to the outer surface of the rotary drive member. The ratchet lever is disengaged from the shift cam and rotated when the rotary drive member is rotationally driven in one direction from a predetermined starting position of the shift cam, and the ratchet lever is rotated in conjunction with the shift cam when the rotary drive member is rotationally driven in an opposite direction.
