The invention relates to air-conditioning and to a calculating method for vehicle air-conditioning, comprising a refrigerant circuit including at least: a compression member (3) for circulating the refrigerant and for pressurizing the refrigerant in the circuit; a condensation member (4) for transferring the refrigerant from a gaseous phase into a liquid phase; and an onboard estimator (7) of the power of the compression member, which is capable of calculating the power consumed by the compression member by means of a high thermodynamic assessment on the condensation member on the basis of the density of the air or of the refrigerant passing through the condensation member.
