An electric power converter comprising a power module (500) which includes a semiconductor chip a dielectric substrate on which the semiconductor chip is arranged, and a metal base on which the dielectric substrate is arranged; a capacitor module (300) which includes a capacitor element (302) and a flat plate conductor (301) for connecting the capacitor element (302) with the power module (500); and a channel formation (220) for forming a cooling medium channel in which a cooling medium flows, wherein the channel formation is sandwiched between the power module (500) and the capacitor module (300), the metal base is fixed to the channel formation (220) and provided with a heat release fin which is protruded into the cooling medium channel at a position opposing the dielectric substrate, the flat plate conductor (301) is arranged between the cooling medium channel and the capacitor element (302), and the power module (500), the channel formation (220), and the capacitor module (300) are integrated.
