The torque sensor (24) is configured to output a torque signal (26) indicative of a lateral force (20) experienced by the vehicle (10). The location device (40) is configured to determine a lateral position (42) of the vehicle (10) relative to a roadway (16). The controller (48) configured to determine a steering correction (46) to steer the vehicle (10) toward a center of a roadway lane (18). The steering correction (46) is based on the torque signal (26) and the lateral position (42).
