Furthermore, the operating unit (10) has a flat or strip-shaped carrier element (26), which is common to the switching rockers (22) and which is composed of a resilient material, in particular metal, wherein the carrier element (26) is fastened within the housing (14) and has resilient bending beam segments (38), which are associated with the particular switching rockers and which form the bending levers (53) of the switching rockers (22). Each switching rocker (22) has a manually actuatable operating element (20), which is mechanically connected to the bending beam segment associated with the bending lever (53) of the switching rocker (22) in question. The operating elements (20) of the switching rockers (22) are arranged next to each other on an outer face of the housing (16). Each switching rocker (22) also has at least one switch actuation element (48), which is mechanically connected to the operating element (20) of the switching rocker (22) in question. The operating unit (10) has at least one switch (62) per switching rocker (22), which switch has a switching element (60) and can be actuated by the switch actuation element (48) of the switching rocker in question when the operating element (20) of the switching rocker (22) in question is manually actuated.
