The invention provides a structure such that freezing of an evaporator can be prevented, and a control method, for a vehicle-use air conditioning device wherein a temperature of the evaporator is controlled using a fin heat-sensitive sensor, and which includes left and right independent temperature conditioning functions. A contact type temperature sensor 50B is disposed in an evaporator 8 in a region facing a passenger side space 30 on a downstream side of the evaporator 8. Alternatively, a contact type temperature sensor 50A is disposed in contact with the evaporator 8 in a region facing a driver side space 20 on the downstream side of the evaporator 8, an operating state of a compressor 10 is controlled so that a detected temperature (T8a, T8a') detected by the temperature sensor 50 is between a lower limit value (T sd) min and an upper limit value (T sd) max of a threshold temperature (T sd) when a normal blowing mode is selected, and a threshold temperature (T sp) is set to a value higher than the threshold temperature (T sd) set when the normal blowing mode is selected when a concentrated blowing mode is selected.
