A method of operating a turbofan engine (20) includes coupling an electric motor (66) to drive a fan (22) rotatable within a nacelle (18), detecting an in-flight operating condition indicative of an increase in drag, and driving rotation of the fan (22) with the electric motor (66) to redirect a flow of air through the nacelle (18) to reduce drag. A turbofan engine (20) is also disclosed.
