To provide a cooler capable of reducing the weight of a fan without sacrifice of the reliability and service life of the fan.SOLUTION: A cooler (28) for electric motor (24) includes: a jacket (40) defining an air guiding path (58) connecting an air inlet (52) with at least one air outlet (56); a fan (42) mounted inside the jacket (40) and configured to forcibly run an air flow; and a measurement device (44) of measuring a rotational speed of the fan (42), composed of an encoder wheel (64) and a speed sensor (66) indirectly connected with the fan (42). The cooler (28) includes a support plate (46) suitable to fix the electric motor (24) onto a rotor (32). The fan (42) is separate from the support plate (46) and fixed on only one of surfaces (60A, 60B) of the support plate (46).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
