The present invention relates to a method for controlling a vacuum pump (PV) of an electric vehicle, said vacuum pump being intended to maintain a vacuum pressure in a vacuum chamber (RV), the electric vehicle being equipped with a drivetrain (GMP) controlled by a supervisor (SGMP), with a traction battery (BattT) configured to supply power to said drivetrain, with a service battery (BattS) configured to supply power to the supervisor (SGMP), the electric vehicle furthermore being equipped with a converter (DC/DC) allowing the traction battery (BattT) to recharge the service battery (BattS), the electric vehicle comprising a pilot mode provided at least with a state called "OFF", a state called "+APC" and a state called "READY", characterized in that the vacuum pump is supplied with voltage only by the converter (DC/DC) when the electric vehicle is in the state "READY".
