One aspect of the invention relates to a method (100) for the thermal monitoring of the modules of a vehicle traction battery, comprising the steps, executed by vehicle control means, of: determining (101) a temperature of each of said modules, and if the temperature of at least one of said modules is above a maximum temperature threshold over a predetermined first period of time, said method (100) comprises the steps of: displaying (102) an indicator light on an instrument panel of said vehicle, and limiting or preventing (103) the charging and discharging of said traction battery.
