The invention relates to a method and a system for charging an electrical energy store (10) of a vehicle (12), in which a control unit (16) of the vehicle (12) communicates with an infrastructure device (18). The infrastructure device (18) informs the control unit (16) of an availability of a charging station (22), which is designed for charging the electrical energy store (10) of the vehicle (12). The vehicle (12) autonomously makes its way to the charging station (22). According to the invention, a control unit (32) of at least one further vehicle (30, 36) sends a message (34) to the infrastructure device (18), indicating that an electrical energy store (40) of the at least one further vehicle (30, 36) is to be charged. The infrastructure device (18) establishes an order for the charging of the electrical energy stores (40) of the vehicles (12, 30, 36). According to this order, the vehicle (12) and the at least one further vehicle (30, 36) each move autonomously one after another to the charging station (22).
